Before deleting
If you may need the records later, open Settings and export a backup first. Store the exported file securely. Protocol Labs cannot recover deleted local records or restore a backup you did not retain.
Delete an individual record
- Open the relevant Protocol, Calendar, Health, bloodwork, symptom, or goal screen.
- Open the record or use its available swipe/delete control.
- Review the confirmation and choose Delete.
Delete a bloodwork import
- Open Health and locate the imported report or its results.
- Choose the report deletion option.
- Confirm deletion before importing the corrected report again.
Delete all Protocol data
- Open Protocol and go to Settings.
- Open Privacy & Data.
- Select Delete All Protocol Data.
- Read the warning and confirm the permanent deletion.
This removes locally stored Protocol records from the app. It does not remove exported files saved elsewhere.
Delete Apple Health data
Apple Health is a separate data store controlled by Apple. Removing Protocol data or uninstalling Protocol does not necessarily remove records in Apple Health. Use the Health app or iPhone Settings to review app access and delete Health records where appropriate.
Uninstalling the app
Removing Protocol from the device normally removes its local app container. Keep in mind that exported backups, shared files, and Apple Health records are stored separately and must be managed in their respective locations.
Need assistance?
Because Protocol has no online user account, Protocol Labs cannot remotely inspect or erase data stored only on your device. If you cannot find a deletion control, contact us with the app version and screen name—without including sensitive health information.
